What are the reasons for liposuction?
Despite regular exercise and diet, unwanted fat deposits can develop in various parts of the body. Even the most targeted training cannot eliminate them. This is where liposuction can help.

How does liposuction surgery work?
In water-jet assisted liposuction (WAL), the tumescent solution is injected into the tissue under pressure in a wafer-thin jet of liquid from inside the suction cannula. The fat cells detach from the connective tissue fibres and are suctioned out immediately.
This gentle procedure is particularly suitable for the removal of fatty tissue that is to be reused elsewhere (autologous fat transplantation) or for the liposuction of smaller fat pads, for example on the knees and ankles.
What is the procedure if I want to have liposuction?
Before the treatment itself is carried out, a consultation and examination is necessary. Our experienced specialist Dr Kania will determine your initial situation. What to look out for after liposuction?
After minor procedures, you will be virtually unaffected. Larger liposuction procedures can lead to discomfort comparable to severe muscle soreness. This condition can be tolerated well with mild painkillers. In most cases, however, no painkillers are required. Consistent compression treatment is essential for the healing process and shrinkage of the skin. Even if the external incisions are minimal, the internal wound area is sometimes large - especially in the case of larger liposuctions.
You will be fit for socialising again as soon as you are discharged from the clinic. Nevertheless, you should first three weeks take it easy after the operation.
After three weeks, light sporting activities are permitted. However, the suctioned body areas must not be strained too much. Six weeks After the operation you will be able to return to full sporting activity.
Compression underwear
Wearing compression garments is the only way to achieve the desired result. You should expect to have to wear a compression garment for six weeks after the operation.

What scars can be expected?
All resulting scars are barely longer than five to six millimetres and are placed in inconspicuous areas.
What complications and risks can occur during liposuction?
Liposuction creates a large internal wound area, which is why there is almost always swelling and sometimes minor bruising. More serious complications such as wound healing disorders or circulatory disorders of the skin are extremely rare. The sensitivity of the skin to touch can decrease, especially with larger liposuction procedures. This usually disappears after a few months.
In rare cases, irregularities or wrinkles may occur after the operation if the skin does not shrink completely.
